Group-based product configuration is an approach to product configuration where a the product configuration is done by multiple users. According to \citeauthor{felferningGroupBasedConfiguration2016} \cite{felferningGroupBasedConfiguration2016} considering classical approaches as single user tasks can lead to decisions that are suboptimal. Moreover there are scenarios where a decision is inherently a group task such as \emph{Holiday Planning}, \emph{Software Release Planning} and \emph{Product Line Scoping}. Group-based configuration takes the representation of a group directly into account.
